What an exciting and dynamic day it was! Did you see the Human Sacrifice? Did you get to melt a skull?
It's with great pleasure and gusto that we send out this heart felt Thank You to the folks who made this huge event such a success.
First off, thank you Dwayne. You gave us all a place to play and a gun to shoot, and a hill to climb.
The frontline, Heather, Jeff and Jason Johnson, and the littlest ninja, Max, getting every one in and out in an orderly fashion
At the Paint Counter Mike Neathway and Adam. Taking care of hundreds and hundreds of rentals Aden Luther, you rock! Steph, Matt Hughes, Brodie, Joe, and Andrew Sheriff at Registration- getting everyone geared up and ready to play! Boots Stewart and our administration.
Filling Tanks- Josh, Leo, and Cole, thank you for keeping our guns poppin! Staging Area Chrono Ref- Karlo with a K. In the big chrono pen- Aviv and Tel Septon and their crew, thanks for keeping us safe. Shawn from Ntensity Customs who did up our beautiful L.E. Shirts and helped out all around the Neutral Area.
Our Retail Staff who provided you with toques, hoodies, tanks, hoppers, and just about every little piece you needed to keep your gun humming, Nick Elie, the man himself, Mike, Jenn, and Maggie (who also helped with First Aid)- Thank you guys!
How about that food? Peameal Bacon, Dogs, burgers, and sausages? Snack, drinks, fresh pepperettes from Justin at Kohn Meat market? All handled by our lovely food staff, Kim, Michelle, Laura, Harold, Irene, and of course, Rachel (with the baked goods).
The Trade Show was really incredible considering the mud and rain that all that product had to be brought thru- Nic and Brad with Tippmann, Paul, John, Dale, Scott, and Melissa from UnderGround Productz, Lucas and Alex who staffed the DYE and Tiberius tents respectively, Jess with dirt., Rob from H20, Fern from Kobraline, Eric at Virtue Paintball, Jay and Gino from BT, and Henry at Action Gear Canada.
Big ups to all these folks, a number of people had lots of thanks for the free repairs and all the over-the-top service you provided to the players. This is the ONLY event in Canada where you can get ANY gun fixed ANY time for Free. Thank you all.
Head Referee Nik Wilken- had to deal with cheaters, whiners, moaners, and floaters. People passing out, people shooting hot, people complaining that their cleats got dirty (lol). Nik worked ceaselessly with his team of refs all day long. Prop Ref Alex MacIntosh, Insertion and hospital Refs, The London Blitz/Express Kids.
And how about those refs? If you've been to any other big games you know its pretty hard to find a well run game with a professional crew of refs who you can see around you, working hard to make sure that everyone has a good time and a safe time. If you didn't say thanks in person, let me do it for you- To the Glen Morris Mercenaries who took nobody's BS and took pride in doing their job well.... Thank You.
To our Teams and Affiliates- Shadow Squad, ZC (What What !!), Splashdown Paintball, Matt from DMZ, Blues Crew, Wolf, from the Wolf's Den, Force 10, Devil Dogs, Task Force Raiders, BT Rangers, Canadian Contingent, Modern Intel, Sherkston Paintball, Tomcat from the Catshack Reports, The Northern Gunmen, The University of Western Ontario Mustang's Paintball Club, and of course our very own Flagswipe MVP Members.
To our Generals! The flesh-hungry Zombie Lord, Ryan Chantler. And the victor, Champion of Light, Taylor Henderson for the Living Army.
To everyone who had a problem and gave us a chance to fix it, to everyone who helped lift another up in the Prize Throw Mosh Pit, to every player who earned a dripping eyeball by playing honorably, to everyone who helped someone thru the mud, or up the hill, to everyone who helped a young player, or a new renter. For the Zombie Nazis, and Oscar the Grouch, and the Bikini Gorilla. For the axe-throwing maniacs, and the tactical soldiers. For the tired and sore who strapped on their gun for one more round....
And to you, the righteous, the 800 Champions of Day of the Dead 9, our players and customers. You won. No rain could stop you, no wind could bend you. From the Flagswipe Family,
Thank You
