Tippmann internal upgrades don't offer as much improvement as some of the more peripheral things you can get. A cyclone system does wonders for reducing chops and miss-feeds, even with a mechanical gun. They also create a reduced profile and lower the weight of the hopper. It will bring the wieght closer to the center of gravity, giving you a more balanced and better feeling hold on the gun. You can also get the X7 lo-pro hopper to really drop the profile of your gun.
A must have for the M-16 style guns is the rail adapter that fits on the top of the sight/carry handle. They are inexpensive and allow you to mount any weaver style sight system onto your gun. AGC makes one that fits perfectly into the Alphas. Something like a Holographic sight would go perfect with that. Avoid anything with a strong magnification. It's too much of apain considering a paintball can only go 150 ft. or so. Look into an inclosed red dot, or other close range system.
Other than that, a nice mask, harness/vest, and good paint will make a huge improvement to your success on the field. No point in investing a couple hundred dollars in your gun when you can't see through the foggy mask to shoot anybody with it. A nice mask with a thermal lens makes a bigger difference than you'd think.
Yeah, I was considering a cyclone feed as well, so I'll be looking for something around here. I heard the BT Rip Clip was really good as well, but that might only make sense if I get the egrip anyways.
The ones that you drill into the top? I've seen some tutorials on how to install them, so I think I may pick one up, but I'm for sure getting the Picatinny Shroud.
lol! It sucks how paintball markers and paintballs work. I will be buying some First Strike to use every now and then, so I might go for something with a little magnification. Just a little though
V Force any good for masks?
Well, I have several pod packs, and I've even rigged up a dual HPA hold out of an old triangular back pack, can hold some tools as well.
Any recommendations on paint?
I have a case of Cryptic that came with the marker. Its not that bad for woodsball anyways (nice thick shell, somewhat thick fill, but doesn't stain any fabric that I've tested)
I'm looking for something that is cheap, but has some quality to it as well.
